The Zuhrah Rod and Gun Club is an organization established in 1984 to promote a spirit of unity, good fellowship and friendship among Shriners who have a common interest in hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. We provide informative programs to our membership on conservation of our natural resources, firearm safety, and other activities associated with the outdoors. We also contribute to worthy nonprofit organizations that are connected to the habitat that they need to exist.
One of our main objectives every year is sponsoring trout fishing outings for the kids from the Shrine Hospital. Twice during the summer our members escort the kids to the Star Prairie Trout Farm in Star Prairie WI. We bait the hooks, give advice, and remove caught fish from the lines. After fishing we treat the kids to a picnic with lots of pizza and ice cream. This event is looked forward to by our members as much as it is by the kids!
We also schedule fishing, hunting and shooting events for our members, their friends and family throughout the year. We raise money through our $25 a year dues. We also hold other events throughout the year to make the Star Prairie fishing trips possible.
